My work in the birth community began when a friend, who was active duty military (and thus had no family nearby), simply asked me to be a part of the birth of her first child in 2011. I didn’t know it then, but that was the moment my passion for birth and supporting mothers and families was born. I became a trained doula in 2015 and have been supporting mothers and families in some sort of capacity ever since. After taking some time to focus on my own family, I went on to complete my certifications as a birth and postpartum doula and also as a yoga teacher. Yoga is an important part of my life and I believe that it can be a valuable tool for expectant mothers, to help them connect with their bodies and babies, and to help them deal with the stresses associated with birth, pregnancy, and every day life. Combining my work as a yoga teacher and a doula, I am able to provide multifaceted support to expectant and postpartum mothers and families.
In my personal time, I am kept busy by my 2 beautiful children and a Lab puppy (my third child). My husband and I have been blessed to live around the world and travel just as much. I enjoy cooking, gardening, being outdoors and exploring the world through my children's eyes. I’ve done a lot of things in my lifetime, but none of them speak to my soul the way supporting those on their motherhood journey does.
